We've been on the road for three days already and I would have to say it's been a success so far. I've never ventured out west and the new sights and sounds have been enlightening. It's been very quick though. We're constantly moving and heading to the next location. I'm excited to start breaking north and get into some hiking and canoeing. Once we do that we can slow down a bit.
Yesterday did a short hike in Big Muddy National Wildlife Reserve and it was just enough to get me excited for future excursions. The only thing I'm worried about is the weather. We've had two days of light to heavy rain. If this persists it could put a damper on our trekking, but we're prepared for rain and will push through it.
My mind is also being pulled elsewhere. Between buying the house, Courtney's trip to India and some other issues back in Michigan it's been hard to stay focused on only the trip. It will be especially nerve-racking when when communications get more difficult.
